The engineering problem

Compliance work crosses documents, company records, risk assessments, background screening, and human decisions. The software needs to preserve the connection between each step while allowing analysts to review and act.

What I built

I implemented client onboarding from signed HubSpot webhooks through Celery-driven company and beneficial-owner screening, risk escalation, analyst decisions, and a separate-reviewer countersignature. I also built a six-step company onboarding flow with validation, progress tracking, and S3 attachments, connecting backend state to the interface a team actually uses.

Monitoring and notifications

I implemented compliance monitoring and testing with reproducible sampling, checklists, AI-assisted disposition suggestions, and hash-chain audit verification/export. A shared notification system covers document expiry, contracts, policies, and issue workflows. It combines scheduled Celery tasks with AWS SQS, Lambda, and SES, bulk dispatch, and delivery-status tracking.

Integration and maintainability

I connected policy and contract uploads to existing Qdrant document search and refactored risk-assessment APIs into modular Django REST Framework views and serializers with team-scoped validation and audit records. These were my contributions within a larger team-owned product. My work focused on complete workflow slices and their failure states.
